There's a bunch of places a little further away from the main city of rishikesh and located by the river - some places provide tents that can be put up on the river bank as well. One place I've been to and would recommend is the Himalayan Hideaway resort. They provide both cabins as well as tents. over 7 years ago
The Tapovan area of Rishikesh has some nice places and more quiet I believe. I stayed in Swargashram, Rishikesh along the Ganga in a place called Ganga Niwas or Nivas, I believe. It fills up but people do come and go. It's to the left of the footbridge as you cross from the Rishikesh to the Swargashram side, if that makes sense. You take a rickshaw from Rishikesh to either Swargashram or Tapovan. over 6 years ago

Depends on your requirement. Amongst the best luxury hotels, Ananda in the Himalayas, Vasundhara Palace, and Narayana Spa and Resort are the premier hotels. Ganga beach resort, located on the banks of the Ganga, is also a great option.
If you are looking for one close to the rafting area then Hotel Gange Kinare is a viable option. It is situated in the heart of Rishikesh, overlooks Rajaji National park, and has a riverside coffee shop too. over 5 years ago

If you are looking for accomodation in Rishikesh, you have very wide range to choose from. From houses those who let rooms on day rent yo luxury hotels. Right before you reach the Rishikesh there are plenty of hotels guest houses . I recently experienced a village on the bank of Ganga, just outside the Rishikesh, before you reach the main town. Place is called , Pashulok , Nirmal -c, it has few houses with facility of rooms on rent with all modern facilities. People owning the houses are involved in practice of Yoga and meditation. These are the people who came to Rishikesh as tourist and liked the place and now staying forever. Nice to be in their company. about 3 years agoAnswered by Jagmohan singh Rana via WorldNomads.com
