My partner & I are flying into New Dehli 18th Sept & flying out of Mumbai 30th Oct.. I'm getting abit confused with trying to understand the India Visa Application. Whether or not we need a single entry or multiple entry visa. As after flying into New Dehli we will travel to Nepal & then back into India & travel down to Mumbai. Any help much appreciated, thanks :) Also, on application form it says it needs to be signed by a VFS officer.. I'm not sure whether this is done @ their office or i have to organise it!?
hey, this is simple. if you leave india after entering and want to reenter again at a later point then you need a multiple entry visa. QED. if you stay all the time in india only and dont leave the country then you need only a single entry visa. kapito? so if you leave for nepal which is not in india, you need a multiple entry visa. about VFS i dont know what that means. best ask them @the embassy. over 7 years agoAnswered by trob via WorldNomads.com
This is not a simple process.
If you are going in and out of India you need a multi-entry visa, yes. However, things are not as simple as this--in India, they never are. Even if you have a multiple-entry visa you cannot immediately return on it after leaving the country without securing special permission to do so.
Even if you have a six month multiple entry tourist visa and you leave India, you most likely won't be allowed to return to India for two months. Exceptions can be made by applying for special permission from the "Mission/Embassy" abroad. Tourists who have documentation to prove that they're using India as a base to visit neighboring countries as part of their holiday, can enter India up to three times without being subjected to the two month gap in between.
So you you need special permission in addition to your multi-entry visa. I'd highly recommend you contact either an Indian visa broker or the Embassy. You don't want to miss your return flight home because you flubbed up with the bureaucracy that is the Indian government. over 7 years ago
