I'm afraid something will happen with the airplane (highjacking etc.) now with all the Bin Laden/Al-Qaida hate going on! I'm from the Netherlands.

Sanne, Thе odds οf being οn a hijacked plane аrе 1 іn 10,408,947. The world's anti-terror authorities have been put on high alert following the killing of Osama Bin Laden, so security is probably tighter now than at any time in recent history.
I have no information on this, but I'm guessing all sky marshalls have had their leave cancelled and are back at work on planes.
If I were you I'd be more worried about what food I put in my mouth, because the odds of dying from heart disease are 1 in 5 (in the USA).
Airports and airplanes (especially since 9/11) are among the most secure places in the world. Even the most recent attack on an airport - Moscow this year - happened in an unsecured area, the baggage claim where people were allowed to walk-in off the street without going through any checks.
Relax, hijacking is low down on the list of travel safety issues to worry about. Enjoy the trip. about 7 years ago

I flew to Bangalore, India two months ago and it was an INCREDIBLE experience, going from Chicago to Frankfurt and from Frankfurt to Bangalore. It's super interesting to see how the crowds change, how the lines (if any) change, and how the food served in air changes. I agree with Ask Phil above, you shouldn't have to worry about flying to India.

However, I just recently flew from Bangalore to Kampala, Uganda [stopping in Dubai then Addis Ababa] with much more trouble. Because I had a one way ticket, I was taken into customs for questioning and luggage search. Since I had nothing to hide, I had nothing to fear. I guess the only thing I lost during that flight was time waiting for my already delayed plane. Just be careful about leaving, especially where you're going to and what you're carrying. over 6 years ago
