Take a train from Delhi to Amritsar, enjoy the Golden Temple, great food & an easy ride there. Then take a train or bus towards Dharamsala through Pathankot. It's not as windy & nauseous as going straight from Delhi and will let you see one of India's proudest cities on way to the Tibetan community around Dharamsala/McLeod Ganj. almost 10 years ago

You can avail train or bus from Delhi to Dharmsala . There is direct bus from Delhi - Dharamsala ( 12hrs apprx ) . There is no direct train to Dharamsala . You have to get down either at 1)Pathankot OR 2) Chakki Bank . From here by road aprrx 4hrs , (bus / car/taxi ). Train is more comfortable than bus. There are few overnight trains from Delhi , which arrives in Pathankote/ Chakki bank in the next morning . You will get lots of bus service too . Direct from Delhi - Dharamsala / Mcleodgange .
