Spice jet and Air India operate daily flights from Delhi to Kangra Airport , which is about 14 kms from Lower Dharamsala. You can easily get taxis from the airport or arrange a pick up through a travel agent.
Second option is by train. Many overnite trains operate between Delhi and Pathankot or Chakki Bank . Local buses are easily available from there to Dharamsala or taxi can be pre booked or hired on the spot.
Third option is by deluxe bus. Many Volvo buses operate from Majnu ka tila , the Tibetean settlement near the main bus station in Delhi. These buses take around 10-12 hours and cost about 1000 - 1200 INR.
The average cost of the flight is about 5-6 thousand per person. Taxi from airport to Mcleodganj is about 1000-00 . Train from Delhi takes around 8-10 hours and costs about 600 - 1000 in 2 or 3 tier A/con. Taxi to Dharamsala - 1800 - 2000. Takes about hour and a half to get to Djaramsala from the train station. almost 4 years ago
