Yes, definitely. It's a great centre of religion in India. Ghats and temples fill the city. The 3 things you are likely to encounter most are: pandits (priests), tourists looking for a feel of the culture or spiritual solace, and umnn...cows. Attend the evening aartis at the ghats - the ringing of bells, chants of priests, and hundreds of diyas illuminating the waters is a sight.
Buy the very renowned Banarasi saree for your wife/girlfriend/sister/mother. The place is famous for its sweets that are made of pure desi ghee. Definitely a must-visit if you dig new cultures.

Varanasi reflects Indian heritage coolers pilgrimage and different moods of Indian culture. No doubt its a congested place and dirty too. But many of in-bound as well as domestic tourists like Varanasi, because it is full of life. Although it’s a matter of acceptance. Varanasi has lot of things in its treasure especially for those who love photography. More varanasi package here:http://bit.ly/MUPBmF about 6 years ago
