    Carol, I don't know your nationality but if you're Australian, NZ, Canadian, US or British your government advises that you do not travel to Kashmir (with the exception of Ladakh) because of the high threat of terrorism, kidnap, civil unrest and possible religious clashes. There's no doubt it's a volatile and unpredictable place.
    Whether this risk is real or not is kind of irrelevant in terms of travel insurance, because once these warnings have been issued it means you will not be covered for travel to that region. If anything should happen to you as a result of those things.
    You should consider these things carefully before deciding to travel there, and you may be best making your own arrangements for possible medical evacuation and emergency assistance before hand. over 6 years ago
