I would err on the side of caution as North India is becoming increasingly unsafe. My rule in North India is not to roam around on my own after dark unless I am with a local. In places like Bombay, Goa or Kerala you can be far more relaxed. about 5 years ago

That entirely depends on who you are with and how you are travelling. If you are a solo woman, I would say probaby not after 10, as the market starts closing down then. It's quite fine as long its well lit and crowded. If you are with a local or someone who knows their way around fairly well, then it shouldn't be a problem.

If you have your vehicle, even better. Even if you're catching late dinner, there's really nothing much to do around these parts after midnight. almost 5 years ago

Chandni Chowk as such is a much safer place than most of the other parts of Delhi. After 10 p.m., Delhi anyway gets quite scary as regards safety, especially for women. But if you have to be anywhere in Delhi after 10, Chandni Chowk is a safer bet than say south Delhi (which though posh is deserted and much less populated). almost 5 years ago
