Any wifi available in Bulandshahr, India? Where and how much? What is the best way to communicate back to the United States while I'm there? Is there a cheap international phone I could buy while I'm there?

you can get internet activated on your phone. buy any prepaid local number and you can activate internet serive by paying 80-100 rupees. I suggest vodafone, airtel or aircel would be the best option. Just give any photo id and two passport size pictures of you. and the number is activated in 24 hours or so.
phones you can get for very less price but make sure they support internet.

We had our iPad with us at the time and picked up a sim card to use data with the iPad and also a sim card for our unlocked phone. I found it easier to call home through the iPad using one of the apps that I had (MagicJack, Bobsled, Skype, Text+ and there are others out there) as it allowed free calling to the US and Canada. Using your cell to call would be expensive. We mostly had the cell for other people to call us. over 6 years ago
