One option is take a flight to Pantnagar Airport and take a cab to Mukteshwar from there. The road is excellent.
Second option is take the night train from Old Delhi Station to Kathgodam Station and take a cab from there.
Both are comfortable. over 4 years ago

The entire tourist who is planning to take up tours of Uttaranchal should definitely enjoy a sojourn in Mukteshwar that has a lot many popular attractions. The most illustrious highlight of Mukteshwar is the Mukteshwar temple at an altitude of 2,315. To reach this temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva, one needs to climb the stone stairs. This temple is consecrated with a white Lingam that is surrounded by the idols of Brahma, Vishnu, Parvati, Ganesh, Nandi and Hanuman. almost 4 years ago

This question was posed a year ago. I am writing in August 2014. The road between Delhi and Mukteshwar via Moradabad, Rampur, kathgodam has improved and the horrible potholes have gone. The drive takes 9 hours by road including time taken for breakfast at gajraula and Lunch at udupiwala in Kathgodam. There are 3 trains which go from Delhi. one early in morning from Anand Vihar terminal which reaches Kathgodam by noon from where you can take a taxi. Another in afternoon fron old delhi which is not recommended becuase you reach kathgodam at night and cannot drive up into the mountains and 3rd option is gold old ranikhet express the overnight train to kathgodam. over 3 years ago
