Traveling for 8 months in total and 4 months in Europe so trying to keep expenses as low as possible while in Asia, as it will not be as easy to do in Europe. Ideally less than $20 a night, if that's possible. Don't need anything fancy; a double bed is good with a fan, wifi is a nice bonus but not necessary almost 9 years ago

Internet access for 50 rupees for 30 minutes
Laundry service for 10 rupees for a small item (socks, underwear), 25 rupees for big item (t-shirts, shorts, trousers, ...), 35 rupees for large item (pull, veste etc...)
Can arrange boat trips on the Ganges for sunrise or sunset.

Rs. 400 for double room with attached shower room, no sheets, no towels, cold shower.
10-minute walk to the Taj Mahal.
Rude owner who makes his children work for him while he sits in one corner of the room.
Quite dirty.

Excellent location (5-minute walk to New Delhi station), quite good price for Delhi, clean bathroom but weird smell of BO.
Rude staff, insist on using the room service. Hot and cold water, needs to be switched on a long time before shower though.
Wifi for Rs. 40 an hour or Rs. 200 for 24 hours.

Rs. 1300 for huge double room with TV, attached bathroom, clean sheets and towels.
Wifi for 100 rupees for 24 hours but once you have the code, you can keep using it for free after the 24 hours.
Laundry service for 25 rupees a piece.
Excellent restaurant on the rooftop with very good service.

In Jaipur, I highly recommend Atithi Guesthouse. It's a well-run place with clean rooms and nice roof top restaurant. We got a nice room for less than $20. almost 9 years ago
