Call before 00919214404100 Not staying inside the old cityt may sound less romantic, but it also means that you're staying in a place that is very noisy and poluted by traffic.

Born in America, I am very picky about where I stay. I stayed in Lalgarh Palace when I was in Bikaner. It is the most majestic heritage property I have ever visited. Services we only OK though, but still much better than a hostel.
You really feel like you have stepped back 100 years in time. Old photographs of the royal family adorne the hallways and dinning room. I was there in the winter, so the indoor swimming pool was out of use (something common that time of the year in northern India). But you could feel royal presence through out the property (only half of which has been converted to hotel use).

I have also been recommended Gajner Palace Hotel, outside of Bikaner over 8 years ago

We stayed in hotel Meera Mahal for one week. First of all hotel impressed us from the hall which looks like a palace. We wanted immediately go away because our budget not so hi, but indeed price was very reasonable even in spite of Desert festival. Rooms and bad sheets are quite clean and we used wi-fi 24 hours it's not very popular facility in India! Hotel is situated in very convenient place in Gandhi Chowk not far away from Fort and has sunny terrace with nice view. Stuff are very friendly, helpful and polite. Sometimes we had breakfasts, lunches and dinners at hotel - in restaurant or on the roof top. Time to time cook and waiters was not so fast and we recommend to management of hotel pay attention for it, but food was quite good and it worth to wait. We heard fearful stories what in Jaisalmer every host of hotel try to sell Camel safari to guests but in this place we didn't have this problem and only after we asked they told us about it and offered very good price. We asked in a lot of place in city but didn't find cheaper nowhere. over 6 years ago
