I've just returned from a trip to Kerala. Two weeks is a good enough time. I am putting down my recommendations in a list below:

    1. Munnar is a a must. On the way, watch a Kathakali and a traditional martial arts show. Buy tea. Visit spice gardens - you'll be amused. Buy spices - you'll get the purest varieties at half the prices of the city.

    2. Get a Kerala massage done. Soma Palmshore in Kovalam is an Ayurveda resort; it's quite renowned for massages. I would suggest that you get a massage done from whichever hotel you are staying in, as it's practical to rest in your room after the massage, and the hotels give discounts to their guests.

    3. For backwaters, Alleppy and Kumarakoram are the go-to places. Though Alleppy is more famous, I would prefer Kumarakoram - it's less crowded, more beautiful, and raw. I found Alleppy a little commercialized. Yes, I went to both.

    4. Thekkady also scores when it comes to natural beauty in its most virginal form. Even if you are not a wildlife enthusiast (it's an elephant place), you'd love the peaceful place. almost 7 years ago
