    Traveling mode depends on your liking it could be train and a luxury Volvo bus as well. While Volvo coach will take to to Panjim by train you have Madgaon, Tivim, Karmali Stations as an option to take a taxi or rickshaw to your hotel / motel. I always prefer bus as they take almost the same time and you pass though some other towns in between to get the feel of area. about 8 years ago

    or get a flight - much faster, more comfortable, but of course also a little dearer. Cheap fares available if booked in advance. Use something like Cleartrip.com to view current fares for air and rail.
    I've also done the trip by sea once (12 years ago and not sure if you still can)...nothing spectacular, like being on a cross channel ferry! about 8 years ago
