    Republic day is a national holiday. Traffic on the roads should be much less. If you have a hired transport, I dont foresee any problems. almost 8 years ago

    Yes, I agree with the above mentioned answer. I have been in India during Republic Day, and have hardly notice. Maybe in hindsight, there was a lot less traffic on the roads. No rickshaws. So as long as you have made arrangements prior to Republic Day, for transport, lodging and dinning. There shouldn't be any problems... The only thing that I can foresee you should be aware of is, I can imagine many monuments and museums will be closed on that day! So do not plan on doing any city or monument tours on that day!
    Republic day falls inbetween Chrismas and NewYear... Giving many Indians the excuse to take the whole time off from work, hence hotel prices are higer, and some resorts can be packed to the gills! Especially Goa. over 7 years ago
