I just returned a couple months ago and would definitely recommend going in the summer, but MANY of the people we met along the way said that winter brings a very unique perspective of the country. Ice caves, skiing, and Northern Lights are all winter-specific activities that you would not get to experience (necessarily) in the summer. If you're up for it, and prepared, to bear the dark days and cold temps, winter in Iceland could be a great experience! almost 4 years ago
