    Jus bring along your iPad and you can find wifi places almost everywhere like McDonald's, starbucks and etc about 9 years ago

    Also possible 2 get local micro sim pretty cheap...unlimited data for $3 a day. Most little phone accessories shops ( they are everywhere) sell these plans. I use "3" (Hutchinson).... Very reliable about 9 years ago

    The free wifi at McDonald's is usually limited to 20 minutes (Y5ZONE) and that's probably not enough if you rely on it as your sole connection.

    I would suggest you to get a local SIM card from CSL or PCCW, join a plan for around HK$ 200 per month for 5GB data. It should be pretty much enough if you use it for Whatsapp.

    If you have an Android phone, I would suggest you to buy a SIM for your Android only, then use it as a wifi hotspot instead of using myFi.

    And no ID card is required to buy a SIM card, pretty straightforward, it should be easy to spot a shop in town. Try to avoid Smartone, as their plan is only good for long-term users. almost 9 years ago
