I was planning on attending a TEFL course in Antigua, but could almost be persuaded to take a few weeks Spanish course in Nicaragua and travel a bit. I am 47 years old and truly need a break from the rat race of life in the developed countries. I was planning on traveling next month.
Thank you for any words of wisdom you can offer.

Guatemala has many good schools for learning Spanish in Antigua, which is a great place to walk around and hang out. There is much tourism there and it's quite safe. almost 9 years ago

Guatemala is extremely dangerous nowadays! Even Antigua the mecca of language schools in C.A. Is a touch and go!

Nicaragua on the other hand is not as commercial! Much safer. granada on lake nicaragua is a good location for studying. almost 9 years ago
