There is a street called souvlaki row that has many places to eat that taste great and are affordable.
Its in the main square by the flea market and up the street is a great crepe place and a Starbucks if you want a familliar coffee after dinner.
I was in Athens for 4 days with my Greek boyfriend so we wanted something that tasted great and wasnt tourist quality like other places in the Plaka.
Go to Thenasis souvlaki restuaraunt.
We ended up going there for lunch and dinner two days in a row because it was so good.
And its in a good spot where childen come and play instruments but not so much that you feel overwhelmed and the restauraunt staff keep an eye out for buskers that may be spending too much time there.
Thenasis best taste and affordable. Just make sure that you eat earlier if your in a hurry because all the locals come out to eat dinner around 8 or 9 instead of dinner at 6 in north america. over 7 years agoAnswered by Kate H via WorldNomads.com
DEBATABLE depending on what you like on yours but in a world whereby everybody has as different taste-buds as they do opinions, the best way to find out is just to go and try one in every single place that sells them. I mean afterall you are in Greece and the worst souvlaki in Greece is still guaranteed to be better than the best one you've had back home ;-) over 7 years agoAnswered by OzzieGREEK via WorldNomads.com
