I will be in Bonn for 2 weeks looking after a 10 month old baby - any tips on what we could do? And are there toy libraries in Germany?

    Hi :)
Well Bonn is actually a rather small place. When we visited the city we were actually at Cologne and decided to spend one day there. You really don't need more if you want to get the over all picture but still there are some things that might catch your attention.
There are a lot of small museums that are quite nice and that you might wanna visit. Some of them are really cheap while others are free which is good if you want to save money. You can visit the botanical gardens because in spring and summer they look super nice. Bethoveen's house is a must if you go there.
Also you can find a lot of really cute stores near downtown with handmade toys and bookstores and real german souvenirs (not the cheap cheesy stuff).
Oh and I think it was a saturday? or sunday? I don't remember but I know it was the weekend, they have this massive market in the main plaza which is great cause you can buy cheap fruits and vegetables. Also near there there is a great bakery just next to a gelato place that its amazing.
There are also lots and lots of cafes you might like. And at night tons of awesome bars if you go out at night.
Oh and I would suggest you check out somewhere the festivals according to the dates you are gonna be there cause we were there on easter and they were giving away on the streets boiled eggs and candy and I got a nice wood bunny ornament for free at a local store when I went to buy a pen :)
If you have a chance to travel also go to Cologne. Its near and the cathedral is breathtaking.
Have an awesome trip! ;) almost 11 years ago

I would add that you shouldn't miss the Beethoven museum. We really enjoyed it! over 8 years ago
