Where would you go out in Munich?
I'd be interested in any recommendations on bars, restaurants, and clubs where they play progressive or tech house music (and other similar genres).

Hmm... Well I actually had some difficulty finding decent beats in Muenchen, theres quite a few clubs but most I went to played pretty shoddy music. Harryklein I hear is the place to be, though it doesnt seem to be a well known club. I never made it there, however I did make it to a festival they organise which is awesome. If you can check out Shining Festival (www.shining-festival.de) its this party they throw in this beautiful palacelike townhall at the foot of the alps next to a lake, about an hour out of town. Its a 2 or 3 day party where you camp beside the building. Beautiful location, some of Europes best dj's, beautiful people. Definately a highlight. Also when I went there I was the only non German or Austrian, so that always adds to the charm. almost 12 years ago

In terms of a restaurant/pub you absolutely cannot go to Muenchen without visiting the Hoffbrauhaus!
OK, its a little touristy, but not too much, the locals all still have their own reserved tables. The food is very hearty and you can only buy beer by the liter. almost 12 years ago -
