Heading to Germany in June for an au-pair year but I have two weeks in Berlin at the beginning to play tourist. I've heard how amazing Berlin's art and theatre scene is, but I'm at a loss when it comes to knowing exactly where to go to see it. I love theatre, but I'd really like to see the smaller, weirder stuff, rather than the big expensive musicals. Any idea which area of Berlin is the best for art-nerds?

The remaining wall has an exhibit. The Pergamon has amazing antiquities. Go to museum island. Also a river tour to see amazing modern buildings. over 7 years ago

If you love theatres you definitly got to go the Berliner Ensemble near Friedrichstraße. This theatre is amazing. Extraordinary plays! My second advice is the Berliner Kriminaltheater. There they do only crime plays and the audience is asked to guess who the murder is... almost 7 years ago
