I am looking for a new African country to travel to. Does anyone have experience with tarveling in Gabon? More specifically: how is public transport? How is the tourist infrastrcuture? What are places to visit?

    Gabon, known as the Eden of Africa, is positioning itself as an up-market eco-tourist destination, so they're putting some effort into improving roads and other infrastructure. They're not there yet, so many roads are still in poor shape - especially during and after the wet season.
    Public transport also remains patchy. perhaps best to try to hook up with one of the established tour companies who can provide good reliable transport. They'll also be able to arrange access to Loanga National Park (where you can see gorillas on the beach and surfing hippos!). The Gabon government restricts access to the park to protect it from over-use. almost 7 years ago
