    Lindsay, we hired a car in Paris and drove through the north. The roads and highways are well sign-posted and the traffic is pretty normal (if you avoid L'arc de Triomphe in Paris) and rural France is slow-paced.
    I see on the map that Mont St Michel and the site of what was called Omaha Beach are only 100kms apart - that's a drive of just over an hour. You're sure to find a great place for lunch along the way!
    If you don't want to drive, there are some train and local buses between Caen and St Malo (the nearest towns to the two sites) but I understand the services are a bit limited. almost 7 years ago
