We stayed in a delightful place called Tourettes-Sur-Loup which is about 30ks inland from Nice. It is close to Vence and St.Paul de Vence, Lovely medieval villages and friendly locals. Roads are very narrow and challenging but scenery is great. Public transport easy to make use of and cheap. Provence is a very beautiful part of France almost 5 years ago

We landed in a Paris, took a train to Strasburg then to Avignon. From there we rented a car and did day trips. Much to see in that area. Then to St. Paul de Vence. Day trips from there. Our favorite place was Nolay a lovely little town in the middle of wine country. We stayed with Susan above her antique store. Perfect. Drove to Dijon and trained back to Paris for a few days, then home. The only surprise was the amount of tolls on the freeway, but it's all part of the package when you are a tourist. Hope this helps. over 4 years ago
