You should visit Paris, there are alot of places to visit, it will take you about 3-5 days. If you have more time, you can go to visit Bordeaux and small old village near there (St Emillion) ( 2 days).

Yes, watch for thieves in any crowded areas. I recommend getting out earlier in the day, just after rush hour. You will get to see more and enjoy what you visit as many tourists start later in the day. By noon many sites are completely crowded with very long entrance lines. Plan your nightlife activities after you have visited the big sites. over 5 years ago

It depends where you will be but if you are in the South of France, the area around Nice is good for day trips. The mountain village of St Paul, Monaco, Antibes etc. I am also in love with the Languedoc region, if you can hire a car there are lots of spectacular mountain castles, unspoilt beaches and vineyards. Carcassonne and Montpellier are two of the nicest cities in that area. Montpellier for the cafe culture and museums and Carcassonne for history and great scenery. over 5 years ago
