It mostly depend of where you want to go after and if you have a lot of luggages!
The Gare du Nord is a big sport for public transportation but as often in Paris not very convenient to go from one platform to another... If you have a lot of stuff to carry on, I would recommend to look for a cab and why not e-hail one from an app, to avoid the waiting line! You can download Taxibeat, a taxi hailing app available for iOS and Android that enables you to choose your taxi driver based on user ratings and services onboard or language he speaks ;) Plus drivers associated with Taxibeat tend to offer better value service. over 5 years ago

    Hi Ashley,

The taxi app is great, but I did find taxis in Paris quite expensive. The metro is just so easy and cheap (12 euros for 10 tickets), so depending on where in Paris you're heading, its only really going to cost you about 2 euros (maximum).

A few other great apps to download are the WorldNomads language guides (WN French for you!), and also TripGuide. Download before you go so that you don't waste any data download on your telco plan.

    Have fun!

The métro is the best bet. Keep in mind that even a suitcase with wheels will have to be carried down the many staircases, so only take what you can carry alone. If you do a search on "metro paris", you will find an interactive map to guide your journey. If you are going on the outskirts of Paris, try "map RER Paris". If you are going out of Paris, you need to look up the SNCF site for the rest of France. Bon voyage! over 5 years ago

I think hiring a car is better option. Public transportation from outside train station is there but its complex. SO you can hire a car from good rental agencies for easy and comfort like www.carsrentalfrance.com or www.autorent.fr
