    Cannes is ok - very expensive and a bit 'fake' though. We liked Nice much better - beautiful waterfront. You can hire bikes and ride along the promenade, and the old city centre is beautiful to explore. over 6 years ago

    Yeah kinda agree however you can do a nice tour from there to Grasse (famous for its perfume), the perched village of Gourdon & the touristy trap walled town of St Paul de Vence. This trip can also be taken from Nice & shows a hinterland of Provence that is much more traditional with its lavender fields etc than the glamorous resorts on the coast. From Cannes also you can also take a boat trip to St Tropez to walk its narrow streets & if you want, some star spotting. over 6 years ago
