Where is best place for honeymoon?

over 11 years ago about Fiji

Thinking of honeymoon in July in Fiji. Love to have accomodation over water. Looking for something where we can relax if we want, but also somewhere where we could do day trips. Ideas? Recommendations?

My wife and I went to Fiji for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! We stayed a week or so at Mana Island, and then a few more days at Nadi. We just relaxed on Mana and then did our exploring and day trips from Nadi.

I just did a quick search and came up with this place: http://www.likulikulagoon.com/likuliku-overwater-bure.cfm?currentsection=4 . But at $1400/night it's not cheap!

Most islands will offer day trips like snorkelling, sailing etc. Did you have anything in mind for day trips?

I reckon anywhere in the Mamanuca group of islands would be a great spot for some relaxation while still offering day trips. over 11 years ago

My wife and I also honeymooned in Fiji. We spent 10 days out on Plantation island (which has 3 separate resorts, and a 9 hole golf course), and then spent 5 days on the Coral Coast.

The Islands are definitely more of a party atmosphere, and way better if you want to dive or snorkel. Some of the better resorts are more relaxed. You can also island hop during the day to see the other resorts if you want.

The Coral Coast is more up market, and since its on the main island you can cruise around and see local villages and the like.

It all depends on what you want to do. over 11 years ago

The Yasawa Islands probably offer the most stereotypical 'tropical island getaway' holidays in Fiji. A large collection of small islands often only separated by 1-2km of shallow coral sea. Lots of places to stay all the way from cheap backpacker to romantic honeymoon to some of the most famous and most exclusive resorts in the world. My wife and I stayed at Turtle Island for our honeymoon and while it was eye-bleedingly expensive, it was easily worth the price. http://www.fiji.pacific-resorts.com/yasawas.html over 11 years ago

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm starting to hate looking for place to honeymoon at. Certainly don't want to disappoint the new wife.

I guess I'm looking for something that isn't going to be full of kids, is modern and clean, and I guess an unofficial budget is about $4000 AUD including flights.

Saw Flight Centre had a deal for $800 AUD or so including flights and 5 nights accom at Radisson on Denarau, but reading reviews on TripAdvisor showed it to be a family resort... over 11 years ago
