    That sounds really expensive. You need to use it a lot to get value for money. Why not investigate prices using a scenario itinerary. For example, from your starting destination look at a train website and check prices. You may find that when you get to one place, you stay there for a week and not use your rail pass. There's also some really good flight deals. For example, my daughters just bought a flight from the UK to Venice for £60 and if you're flexible and not school hols, you'll get cheaper deals.
