There is still the occasional outbreak of violence - but almost always centred on Tahrir Square in Cairo. Stay away from public gatherings, especially in Tahrir Square.
Recent travellers to Egypt say everything's normal (although quiet) at the pyramids in Giza. Even at the height of the revolution Luxor was pretty safe, there was maybe one or two protests. Hurghada and the toher Red Sea resorts never had any sign of trouble. In fact Hurghada was exempted from the UK's travel warning. If you stick to the tourist routes you should be fine.

I was just in hurgada a couple of days ago, everything is safe and beautiful. The hotel i stayed at was full of foreigners. As for cairo still safe however avoid downtown like tahrir square and the courniche which is the street along the nile. Luxor and aswan is always a safe place u should definitely go its amazing! about 6 years ago
