Any recommendations on tour companies within the airport that I can book once I land?

Hey there, you can obtain your egypt entry visa at the airport on arrival.

The thing you need to be aware of is that the pyramids are quiet far from the airport, and traffic has been really bad lately in Cairo, so I would allow almost three hours for your return drive to the airport.

Good luck and have fun! The pyramids are worth the trouble : )

Depends on your nationality as to whether you can get a visa on arrival but many people can - check the link below.

Can't help you with any recommendations for companies inside the airport, I don't even know if there are any :-) A taxi is another option. Or find a company online and book your tour - they will meet you at the airport with a vehicle and undertake to have you back in time for your flight.

Thank you for your answers...they have helped me a great deal. I am from the USA, so it looks like I will be able to obtain the visa upon arrival. Great tips on the traffic and booking in advance. Thank you!

You can get the visa when you arrive, but I did get mine in advance. You never know if you are going to be denied or for what reason. The pyramids ARE spectacular, as for the traffic issue, yes it is bad, take a taxi. Work out the fee BEFORE getting in the car and hold on tight. Lines on the road are mere suggestions. 4 lanes usually actually have 6 lanes of cars. Take the time to do the 15 minute camel tour. It's a memory maker. Again, work out the rate beforehand. Egyptians love to haggle. So haggle. ENJOY. over 6 years ago
