Well you have so many places to go and so many awesome things to see in Quito. I'll tell you some:
Museums: you have to go downtown considered thwarted biggest historical center in Latin America. There are plenty of guided tours. One I recommend is called "Quito eterno"
You also have to visit 'mitad del mundo' where the equator goes through.
Nightlife: you have to go to an area called 'plaza foch' you will like the place.
Restaurants: to try the Ecuadorian gastronomy you can go to 'Tierra del sol' or 'mama clotilda' both located at plaza foch

I spent about five months in Quito. My advise: take a few sightseeing tours with a local tour operator ( like this one: http://www.gulliver.com.ec/index.php/Cultural-Tours/ ) and profit by their insider knowledge. After that you will roughly know where to go and what to see when you're walking around by yourself. Absolutely essential in a city like Quito: a good and detailed map! over 5 years agoAnswered by Eva P via WorldNomads.com
