My husband may be working in Trinidad, as a consultant in transportation, for 2-4 weeks.

    I think jazzmanblues may have confused Trinidad with Thailand. Trinidad has some of the highest murder rates in the world and your husband should do some research before he heads off there.

    Know how to avoid trouble and exercise caution.

    Carry a little bit of cash (taxis only accept cash), and travel during day light hours. If you out at night, be somewhere you know and trust. Arrange your hotel to collect you from bars and restaurants.

    If you're husband is consulting there, he's probably connected with some of the local anyway, so get him to ask them about local customs (like greetings etc). over 4 years ago

    We are in the Cuba forum.. Trinidad, Cuba is a UNESCO world heritage city over 400 years old and very beautiful and safe. There are great museums and history all around. I don't know if the person is asking about the country of Trinidad but got to Cuba forum by mistake but didn't want anyone to believe Cuba is unsafe. It is one of the safest places to travel as far as crime is concerned, and also the city of Trinidad, Cuba. 10 months ago
