We're going to Cuba in september and would like some info on renting a car in Cuba and how the trafic there is. I've heard that the traffic there is really crazy(nothing like the EU)and is better to use public transport.
We will be there 14 days and would like to expirience and see as much as possible. Thanks for the info in advanced.
Ales, it's pretty easy to rent a car, but it can be a challenge.
WorldNomads.com has an article on getting around Cuba
It's not so much 'crazy driving' (although there's a bit of that) but shocking road conditions. As soon as you get out of Havana and the big towns the roads can be atrocious.
if you do hire a car, make sure you check your travel insurance policy carefully about what's covered.
