I am going in work to Ivory Coast. Is there any kind of food I should avoid?

    Water-borne and food-borne diseases and infections are common with flare-ups from time to time. Avoid local water, and drink only bottled or boiled AND purified water. Don't eat the ice. Watch out for general hygiene and appropriate food storage and handling (ie refrigeration) of all foods. Use the cook it, peel it wash it or forget it rule: make sure it is thoroughly cooked, or peeled (ie don't eat the outer layer which may have come in contact with infection) or thoroughly wash it yourself in clean water (that may mean the bottled water). over 8 years ago
