I am traveling to Colombia this September and am wondering if it's possible to carry a knife along with me during my trip.
It wouldn't be anything big, just a pocket knife. The only reason I'm wondering is because I've heard there are a few security checkpoints and I don't know if having a knife will get me into any sort of trouble.

I think it wouldnt be possible. A knife even if it is a little one is forbidden in the international aviation law, so Colombia is not an exception, Im from Colombia and once I travelled they took from me a metalic emery board because of these regulations. So save your knife and dont do it. over 9 years ago

If you are knife is a swiss army pocket knife I think is ok, but only in your backpack. Never with you, in your pocket or belt, the authority (police and army) are very strict. over 9 years ago

You will be able alright, if you are thinking in carrying it for ur own safety, it won't be necessary, if u are going trekking and into the rainforest, it will turn out quite useful over 9 years ago
