Based on a really helpful answer I will definitely be going to Colombia and specifically Cartagena for 4 days. I was initially planning on doing 3 days in Bogota as well but after looking at info on the Internet I'm wondering if Medelin would be better for the 3 days? Wish I could do both but only have so much time. It is unlikely that I will revisit Colombia in the future so what would you think would be the best option of Bogota and Medelin ?

Both! And if you want to go to Panama without flying and in the cheapest way possible, here is a link: http://www.outofyourcomfortzone.net/how-to-get-from-colombia-cartagena-to-panama-the-capital-city-for-less-than-150-dollars/ about 1 month ago

Haven't been to Medelin, but was in Bogota a year ago. Awesome city. Sooo much history, great food (and coffee), warm people, and spectacular views.

If you are looking for a guided tour, I highly recommend going with Gate One. They have the best deals by far and their guides are the most knowledgeable and professional. about 1 month ago

Bogotá for sure. History, great restaurants, and mild weather. A very exciting city. Just always be aware of your surroundings and either speak Spanish or have someone with you that does. Don't forget an umbrella! about 1 month ago
