Christmas is a great time because you will see lots of pilgrims from other parts of Tibet, it's usually too cold at the nomad area and they came to Lhasa for pilgrimage.

Day time is usually quite warm, lesser raining, better chance to see the Everest (if you go there), less tourists, etc. You will probably see a different image of Tibet if you come in the winter time. about 9 years ago

The Shambala palace is a very romantic place to stay and the owner is an interesting character. Film director, writer, lawyer and activist he has a chain of boutique hotels spread out over Tibet. For sight seeing def go to jokhang and potala palace, although expect it to be full with tourist. Fun market is the Barkor... I can send you more detailed info if you need.... almost 9 years ago

Agree with Shambhala Palace, lovely rooftop restaurant and you can get a full view of the Potala Palace.

But have you met the owner in person? I've been to Shambhala Palace many times (I do mean MANY), never met Laurence Brahm. over 8 years ago
