In my experiences of living & travelling in China, I'd have to say no, but the south & south-west of China has the cleanest air (ie: less pollution) & waterways than in the larger cities. In other words, you can see blue skies (rather than yellow) and can swim in the rivers etc (safely, without risk of getting sick). almost 7 years ago
