    You'll be fine in the major spots. As anywhere, dress appropriately for your surroundings and try not to wander off too far alone as some of the tombs/temples can be quite sprawling.

    Assuming you're a Westerner, you may get stared at a lot, when walking, eating, shopping, anything, but they're being curious rather than threatening.

    Yeah, China is pretty safe in general. The biggest threats are scams and pickpockets (which can be ubiquitous in the major tourist places/train stations...). Messing with foreigners is highly frowned upon by the national government and they don't mess around when it comes to punishing those that disregard what they frown upon. over 9 years ago
