    I know this question is a bit old but hopefully this helps others wondering the same thing:

    1.There’s no such thing as a queue. Anywhere. It’s not rude, it’s just how it works over there.

    2. Make sure you have the right visa for the right region, different provinces have different rules, but it’s nothing that cash can’t solve so make sure you keep some RMB on you.

    3. Speaking of which, cash is king and it will open more doors than you think.

    4. Nobody speaks english, so make sure you bring a phrasebook or better still, have a local guide.

    5. Personal space is a luxury. But just because you get a few shoves on a crowded street, does not mean the locals aren’t really friendly. It’s just a by-product of living side-by-side with 1.3 Billion people.
