I am going to China on 14th November. First stop would be Beijing, i already book tour to Beijing on my own, however i think of going Shanghai from Beijing. spend around one or two days in Shanghai? what should i do in Shanghai for beautiful scenery and Shanghai food? then from Shanghai, which one is better to, Shanghai -Guangzhou or Shanghai- Shenzhen? i heard its cheaper to book tour activities in China, is it true?
Hello! Shanghai is so big, you need at least 2 full days to enjoy the abundance of food and experiences in the Bund and the French Concession! I recommend a minimum of 2 but try for 3-4! You will no doubt head to Nanjing Rd for shopping and food but divert to the small streets and lane ways for little eateries that will give you the authentic Shanghai taste you are looking for.
In terms of a holiday destination, both Shenzhen and Guangzhou offers similar experiences in shopping and food. However, I prefer Guangzhou for its places of interest. Shenzhen is a closer step to Hong Kong but Guangzhou has easy access, too. Depends what you're looking for!
It is cheaper to book in China for tours as the prices are more competitive due to the sheer number of agents. You also have more of a chance to negotiate a better deal in person than online.
Safe travels! :) about 6 years ago
