The bus tickets are not that expensive, except in the summer, winter break and holidays. over 7 years ago

You typically take the metro, for about 560 to 670 pesos per trip. It comes to about $1.00 to $1.50 one way. Same with the buses. Although, the buses are more infrequent, and always full during rush hour, so they don't stop. Taxis are available and reliable, as well. With base price of 250 pesos, then 100 to 200 pesos per min., or 200 meters. There are also colectivos, taxis with designated routes, and take several passengers, which makes it a lot cheaper, if you find them. over 7 years ago

This time of year, the subway is horrible! If you want to go across Chile, though, this is a great time: is not so hot anymore and after holy week, the bus tickets are fairly cheap. And in other cities public transportation is cheaper or they're easy to see walking around. over 7 years ago
