staying with locals in wine valeys

about 5 years ago about Chile

Hello - I am planning a 3 days/2 nights trip to one of the wine valleys around Santiago and would like to stay in a less touristic location but still in a wine producing area, enjoying the wine and the nature. I have no preferences for the region as long as it's not too far from Santiago (max 200km away), but what I would like is to avoid the posh villas and mansions that offer over priced rooms and packages. Therefore some tips of where I could stay in a more rural/local/authentic accommodation/location would be much appreciated.

You can stay in Pirque area and be close to the Maipo Valley wine region, or you can go also to Casablanca, which is not a nice town, and from there move to the wineries. Lots of people go all the way to Valparaiso and visit for the day the Casablanca region... but it's a 1hr drive at least. My recommendation would be to stay close to the Maipo Valley and check for a rural house to stay in Pirque, which is super close to Santiago, but no high buildings, lots of farms, crops and easy people. Pirque itself as a town is really nice, old and colonial style. almost 3 years ago
