Traveling for around for the next month and a half from Vancouver down the West Coast of the US to San Diego.
Any suggestions for cites to see?
We have the obvious big city destinations picked i.e. portland, seattle, san fran etc but within these places are lost for ideas for what to visit.
We were also thinking of doing a couple hiking trips such as Surprise Lake and heading in to Joshua Tree National Park.
We are mixing up our transport using amtrak passes as well as hiring a car as we get further south.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

In Vancouver definitely do the zip line adventure at the top of Grouse Mountain. Exhilarating and the views are amazing. Also in Seattle do the Bill Speidels Underground Tour very historical and learn alot about how Seattle got started. GREAT!!

I'd recommend going to Vancouver Island...Victoria is a such a beautiful city and then if you head west on the Pacific Rim Highway you'll hit Tofino which is great for surfing. On the way make sure you stop in Port Renfrew and stay at the Big Fish Lodge. It's a tiny little village but it's a great spot to base out of for some awesome hiking. over 8 years ago
