    This is a great drive - even if you don't stop but just keep your eyes peeled for waterfalls and wild animals. Hell's Gate Canyon is very cool. Stop in Kelowna for wineries and great food. Lake Okanogan to look for the Ogopogo (Western Canada's Loch Ness monster). Canmore has way better food than Banff (and cheaper). There are several hot springs on and near your route. Any of the national parks aside from Jasper and Banff will be uncrowded, but do check out the old railway hotels in Banff and Jasper (ie Banff Springs Hotel and Jasper Park Lodge, plus Chateau Lake Louise). over 7 years ago
