We are going to St. Johns NB and Halifax NS on a cruise. Best shore excursions or must see places. We will be one day in each city.
Cruise excursions or private?

In Halifax, it is an easy walk along the waterfront and downtown from where the cruise ships dock. Check out the restaurants and historic properties. If you want to take a tour, Peggy's Cove is nice and is a short drive away. You could take a cab, you don't need to book a tour guide to show you where the lighthouse is. It is a pretty view (just don't get too close to the water; the waves have taken a few tourists off the rocks). over 7 years ago

Saint John NB has a number of things. A walk around the town, the markets in downtown just off the square is quite nice and the reversing falls which will probably be a cab ride away. over 7 years ago

There are a number of on-shore excursions that should be offered in both of these places. (For your searching success, it is actually "Saint John".) I would also suggest a tour to Peggy's Cove from Halifax. And I would suggest St. Martin's from Saint John. almost 5 years ago
