My husband and I are travelling to the Eastern part of Canada next June for 2 to 3 weeks, the time is flexible as we will then go across to the West. Can anyone suggest an itinerary of where to go and how many days to allow? We like photography, walking, camping. We will be travelling in a converted van which we sleep in, so any campground recommendations would be appreciated.

I would suggest allowing at least 3 days in Ottawa great city lots to do! Parliament , Byward Market park and walk as much as possible. If you can allow time for the Thousand Islands on the Canadian side you will enjoy at least a day there. about 8 years ago

Quebec City, Montreal and Toronto is where all the action is. The food is better the further into Quebec you go. The further into Ontario the more they pile it high and sell it cheap. about 8 years ago

    Hi !
You absolutely need to visit Quebec City. Visit the Basse-ville (low town), it's gorgeous ! Don't miss the Montmorency falls (higher than Niagara, not as big). Lot of things to see and do in Montreal (pointe-a-callieres museum, old port...). The restaurants are great! No camping though. Choose a good hotel and enjoy the city life. Then, if you like camping, there's parc national du mont tremblant. It's a great place. You can visit the mont tremblant village. Quite romantic place and you can climb or take the chairlift up the mountain.

I went to parc national de la Gatineau few years back and I thought it was the best camping ground I ever visited. Clean, quiet... Near Gatineau and Ottawa.

Toronto is a good city, don't miss the ROM and the CN tower. You can also check the CasaLoma.

In Niagara Falls, be very careful of camping grounds. The last ones i did were very dirty and noisy! Same for motels. Maybe use trip advisor. I liked the falls, the botanical garden and the butterfly conservatory.

Hope this help! about 8 years ago
