If you are driving up from the states, go thru Glacier National Park. Check out Whitefish, MT just west of the park. It is a fantastic western town...great restaurants and art galleries. Try Tupelo's for great seafood and Zydeco food. over 8 years ago

Thanks for your replies. Most helpful! We are staying in Columbia Falls, MT before heading to Banff, so will get to check out Whitefish. Anyone had high tea in the area? The Fairmonts hotels, Prince of Wales in Waterton? Worthwhile? Cost? over 8 years ago

If you come up through Cranbrook and the Kootenay Park there is the National Rail Museum in Cranbrook and Fort Steele just minutes from Cranbrook. Fairmont and Radium Hot Springs on the way North. Marble Canyon, and the Paint Pots if you can hike a bit. Lots of beautiful scenery. over 7 years ago
